VLC 2.0.1 Audio Codec Error

Any thing to do with the transcoding implementation.

VLC 2.0.1 Audio Codec Error

The update to VLC 2.0 breaks audio codec mp4a by flagging it experimental.
You can get around this by changing the codec to mpga in the VLC_param.txt file that is in the "My Roku" folder.
Or just stay on version 2.0

What is a reliable codec software to use on windows media player 10? I have the Combined Community Codec pack but it kind of sucks when I play high quality videos. Any suggestions on which codec software I can get that is safe and reliable to use for high quality videos?

Just tried it on 2.0.2 with it set to mpga and the audio worked for me. Then set it to mp4a and got the error.
But I have limited files to test with, so it may not work for your instance.

All I can say is - me too.

I am running the latest BETA channel and the latest BETA server. I made the mistake of updating from VLC 1.1.something to the latest VLC 2.0.2 and ran right into this problem and this thread. Rather than fooling around with VLC settings, I uninstalled it (removing settings and cache) and then installed version 2.0.0.

Works fine for me! I didn't really need that new version anyway. ;-)
