Will there ever be a Linux Server?

Postby marphod » Tue Nov 12, 2013 3:52 pm

With chaneru running on both MacOSX and Windows, it has to be somewhat cross-platform. Is there any plans to target Linux at some point? Are there any blocking issues that would prevent it?

I don't have a platform to develop and test it. Although I have heard that it runs under Wine.

Would you be able to use a Linux VM (via VMware Player or similar) to do the development, or do you need direct hardware access? What tools, compilers, etc would you need?

I think the problem would be me learning a new GUI. It took over a month for me to get the Objective-C and Xcode to work.
The Windows and Mac code is just about the same minus the GUI interface.
